Designer: Homemade (A$ap Rocky)
A$ap Rocky launched his creative design studio back in 2022, and for Design Miami this year, he debuted his Galaxy collection. It portrays a “deeper look into what a surreal retro-futuristic lifestyle would look like from the POV of a Satellite.” This collection was created with the help of the Italian manufacturer Gufram, known from their last collaboration together.
The star of the collection is the CBNT.V1, a speaker cabinet that highlights huge speakers and has retro vibes like vintage controls alongside nostalgic imagery of VHS and cassette tapes but it also sprinkles in some so-called futuristic design. The lineup also includes cushions adorned with skyscraper designs and a projector lamp resembling a satellite. Plus, there’s a massive carpet sized at 300 cm x 300 cm featuring 3D New York City high-rises on it.
Although it wears the label of retro-futuristic, it seems there isn’t much in the way of futuristic elements, but hey, the retro is without a doubt present.
