Indoor gardening has been around since, like, forever—but it really picked up steam over the last few years. With many people spending more time at home, new hobbies emerged, and, unexpectedly, some of those hobbies turned out to be pretty profitable too. Folks began enjoying not only growing decorative flowers but also their own herbs and veggies, boosting the popularity of indoor gardening appliances.
The main goal of these products is to make it super simple to grow greens inside, especially when it comes to watering and giving the plants the right light. Still, many of these devices seem to stem from an old era when appliances looked more like high-tech boxes instead of a part of our living space. LG is stepping up with a refreshing design that integrates an indoor gardening appliance with your home decor effortlessly.
Designer: LG
If you’re just looking to grow veggies, herbs, and flowers the right way, you might even be okay with indoor planters that basically look like mini-refrigerators. LG had a similar design a while ago, riding the indoor gardening wave for a hot minute. That box appliance was compact and super functional, but while it displayed the plants behind glass, it didn’t do much for the vibe of your room.
To cater to the need for more stylish aesthetics, LG is unveiling two new indoor gardening gadgets that also function as chic lighting. One is a tall floor lamp, and the other is a side table you can position next to chairs or couches. Both come with circular lamps that serve as upward-facing mood lights at night and downward lights for plants in the daytime.
These gadgets aren’t merely lamps with plants around them. Each planter can reportedly support up to twenty plants, and you can adjust the height to fit various plant types. Plus, there’s a 1.5-gallon water tank cleverly integrated into the lamp’s base, so you won’t be stressed about your plants getting enough hydration. Naturally, all of this can be managed through the LG ThinQ app.
When you compare these to LG’s 2022 “Tiiun” model, the new indoor planters do quite a bit more than just grow plants and provide nice lighting. They actually enhance your indoor space by introducing soothing green hues and air-purifying plants in the areas where they really count: places where people sit and chill out to unwind.
