The Escapade Silverstone is a stunning new residence that gazes over the legendary Silverstone race circuit in the UK. Created by Twelve Architects, it includes roughly 60 residences. The building was revealed for the first time in 2020, and its design features three rows that are inspired by the concept of slipstreaming. The first row sits just 40 feet from the racetrack.

According to the studio, “The way the form and appearance are articulated is inspired by ‘slipstreaming,’ which is when a vehicle closely follows another, traveling in its slipstream while waiting for a chance to overtake. The front-row residences are crafted from two modules that are stacked and slightly rotated, resulting in a splayed massing of the upper floors.
“They jut out from a landscaped bund, towards the track and a pedestrian walkway, giving the site a truly dramatic and dynamic facade. Each residence is carefully positioned at varying angles in the front row, which creates a motion effect, making it seem like each building is being swept along in the tailwind of fast cars,” the studio added.
The other residences are placed behind the front row, offering views of either the track or just the surrounding countryside, depending on their specific location. These homes feature between two to four bedrooms and are designed to be quite versatile. They can be divided into smaller suites with sound-insulated, movable walls.
Guests also have the option to reserve time on the track during non-racing days, allowing them to get the full Silverstone experience. The facilities include clubhouse with a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, and a gym aimed at drivers. The residences are meant to offer a boutique hotel-like experience, with several of the homes available for purchasing. While there’s no details on pricing, it’s safe to assume it’ll be quite expensive.
