The Long Black is a slender, light-filled dwelling designed by New Zealand’s Cocoon Tiny Homes. This place features an impressive layout that’s spacious and adaptable. Made for a small family, it includes two bedrooms and an area that can work as a gym or an office. Sitting on a triple-axle trailer, it stretches 39 feet long, which is pretty big for a tiny home. The exterior is wrapped in black iron cladding that gives a sleek and elegant appearance, topped off with a metal roof.

Upon entering, you’ll find double glass doors that lead into the living room. It’s spacious enough and comes equipped with a comfy sofa and a TV unit that offer storage. Right next to the living room is the kitchen, which features a breakfast bar for two, a fridge/freezer, plus a propane stove, oven, sink, and plenty of cabinets.

The kitchen leads to a small hallway where the bathroom is located. The bathroom features a shower, vanity sink, and a flushing toilet. Adjacent to the bathroom is a cozy little room with a separate entrance. The entrance is a simple glass door that opens up outside. This space can serve as a home office, a small gym, or even a nursery if needed.

A loft area sits above the extra room. This space can be used as an extra bedroom or for storage, depending on what’s needed. To reach the loft, there’s a removable ladder. The master bedroom on the opposite side includes a double bed and has its own entrance through double glass doors that lead out to the outdoors. As this bedroom is located downstairs, it allows for enough headroom to stand comfortably, which is a real plus in tiny homes. The Long Black offers a modern living experience with a feeling of spaciousness that’s not often found in tiny homes, making it a great living option for small families and couples.
